The Magi is a collaborative multimedia project that began in 2017 with a digital painting by artist Joel Heires. The eponymous painting inspired composer Christian Kriegeskotte (LYNXX) to explore Heires' haunting new universe with a new work of his own.
From this simple genesis, the composer and the artist proceeded to challenge one another by taking turns crafting new movements, alternating between a new piece of music that would inspire an image and a new image that would in turn inspire a new piece of music.
The result has been a journey of discovery for artist and composer alike, illustrated metaphorically by the dark neophyte who journeys through the temple of the Magi.
*Each track in the digital album has its own cover image as outlined above.
